Joe Pemberton

Starting Strength Coach

BComm (Accounting, Finance, Commercial Law), GradDipCA, Cert III & IV in Fitness, Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coach, Level 1 Powerlifting Coach

Joe began his professional career as a Chartered Accountant but he quickly grew frustrated with the detrimental health effects of long, sedentary corporate hours. To regain his health, and help others do the same, Joe became a certified personal trainer. In 2008 he established Joey’s Fitness – a rapidly successful personal training business.

With increasing demand and reputation for developing, lean, strong, healthy humans, Joe quickly outgrew the confines of a modest studio space and deserved a purpose built training facility: Sydney Strength Training.

As a former elite swimmer and accomplished strength athlete, Joe possesses an effective blend of training knowledge and practical experience.

Joe recently became Australia’s first Starting Strength Coach (find out more here) by travelling to the USA and completing the gruelling requirements for this prestigious qualification.
